II Kazakhstan Lean Forum took place within Innovation Forum in Astana

On December 5 the II Kazakhstan Lean Forum took place in Astana, gathering more than 500 companies from different sectors, development universities, state enterprises, financial institutions, international and Kazakhstan experts.

The goal of the annual Kazakhstan Lean Forum is becoming a traditional location for dialogue, for discussing the implementation of modern management techniques in the Republic of Kazakhstan and popularizing Lean philosophy among potential participants of the program, representatives of business as well as colleges and universities.

At the Lean Forum international experts from Kaizen Institute Russia, Kaizen Institute India, Frauenhoffer Institute (Germany), Solving Efeso, Strategy Partners Group, and Orgprom shared their rich experience of Lean implementation. The participants learned about secrets of implementing Lean tools at companies, about difficulties and features of implementation at initial stages. They also got acquainted with real business cases of successful Lean implementation projects.

As Alexey Baranov, Director General of Center Orgprom said, “One can only envy the people of Kazakhstan – only their government, of all CIS countries, saw the great potential of Lean implementation. As a result, only Kazakhstan has a clear program “Productivity 2020” where one of the key sections is developing Lean production. They even have the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies” which is responsible for this program and thus has specific levers and means of influencing the labor productivity. That’s why I think it would be useful for Russia and other CIS countries to take the Republic of Kazakhstan as a model!”

At the forum it was declared that Kazakhstan kaizen club started functioning, to unite Kazakhstan experts who give much effort to make kaizen philosophy inoculated in any company.
